September 7, 2010

in General Biotechnology, Talks and Publications

I will be moderating a panel on the roles of biotechnology in development at the upcoming A Better World by Design conference at Brown University. The theme of the panel will be the promise and challenges of implementing biotechnology advances for public benefit, with a focus on topics such as disease prevention, agricultural improvements, and political hurdles.

The panel will be on October 1st at Brown University. For more details, see the A Better World by Design website.

This sounds like an interesting panel discussion, Yali. Do you foresee there being a copy of the panel transcript or something similar available to read afterward? Thanks in advance and good luck with the moderation!

I don’t see transcripts or videos of the previous conferences on their website, but I intend to write up the panel as an editorial for the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology.

Are you allowed to post in your blog a summary of your article for JCBiotechnology? I am talking in behalves of those like me that do not have good access to academic literature.

All my editorials in the JCB are free to access, and I’ll probably post a summary on the blog as well.
