Profiling Cuban Biotechnology
I will be giving a brief talk on the Cuban Biotechnology industry during a panel at the Biotechnology Industry Organization conference today.

I will be largely citing papers published in the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology and providing a brief overview and SWOT analysis of Cuban biotechnology.
I have always been impressed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotech (CIGB) in Havana. Amazing what can be done re: innovation within a healthcare system lacking the kind of budgets found in the U.S.. Your thoughts would be appreciated on the disconnect between innovation, VC and the Cuban healthcare system. Any take-home message there?
