Coca Cola developing bottles using plant-based plastics #bio2012

Coca Cola discussed their Biobottle program at BIO 2012

They described their efforts to ensure that the plant-based plastics wouldn’t compete with food production, would be environmentally sustainable, and produce an identical plastic to their conventional bottles, facilitating seamless recycling.

As the project has matured, they have been deploying additional locally-relevant feedstocks, reducing the global footprint of bottle production.
